Mary Ellen Roach

	Mary Ellen (Punkin) Roach, 61, of DuQuoin, passed away at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
	Punkin had worked as a packer at Turco Mfg. and had been a restaurant owner.
	 She was a member of the Sunfield United Methodist Church.
	 She was born June 19, 1939 at Sunfield, the daughter of Lavern (Tweed) and Bernice (Toad) (Bishop) Bailey.  She was married to Carlie Roach and he survives of DuQuoin.
	She is also survived by two sons- Bobby Walters and wife Robin of Tamaroa, David Roach and wife Lisa of DuQuoin, two daughters- Robin Hastings and husband Gary of DuQuoin, Paula Walters of DuQuoin, step-son- Carlie Roach Jr. and wife Robyn of DuQuoin, mother- Bernice (Toad) Bailey of Sunfield, one brother- George Bailey and wife Sherry of Sunfield, one sister- Naomia Cooper and husband Ed of Camillus, NY, sister-in-law- Diana Bailey of Sunfield, several nieces, nephews and cousins, 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her father and one brother- Jim Bailey.
	Funeral services werre at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 31 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Jerry Dunn officiating.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
	 Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	 Friends may make memorials to the Barnes Lodge at St. Louis, Mo.
